TECHNICAL OVERVIEW

Cubit + CalculiX

An engineering workflow joining Coreform Cubit's geometric modeling and meshing with the open-source CalculiX finite element solver.

Independent experimental work. This page summarizes available development evidence; it is not an official Coreform release. Cubit must be licensed separately. Compiled M&T packages are not yet approved for public download.

Overview

The workflow is designed to progress from CAD geometry through meshing, material properties, support/load boundary conditions, solver execution and graphical results. The underlying upstream project has a GPLv3 license.

Typical workflow

  1. Import a CAD model into Cubit.
  2. Generate an appropriate mesh and verify its quality.
  3. Assign materials, sections, displacement supports and applied loads.
  4. Export the solver input deck in the supported format.
  5. Run CalculiX and monitor solver convergence and status.
  6. Inspect the results with a compatible post-processor.

Source code

The upstream source project is available from github.com/calculix/Cubit-CalculiX. M&T's experimental GUI and integration branches have distinct development histories and are not yet public source releases.

Requirements

Publication status

Documentation preview is available. Before a compiled package is listed, its license conditions, exact version, executable dependencies, tested installation procedure and SHA-256 will be verified.
